About a month ago, I posited that U.S. Interstate Highway 70 through western Colorado is the most scenic length of Interstate in the country. Consider today’s post to be a continuation of that thought. In June 2013, I headed back up I-70 with a small group of friends / acquaintances / victims. The purpose this time was to hike from the base of Copper Mountain up to Vail Pass. This was accomplished via a paved hike/bike trail that follows the valley floor, between the two widely separated roadways that are I-70. As I recall, it was cold and very windy, which is to be expected at 10,662 feet above sea level.

And that’s it for this week! Next week: A hike at Hoosier Pass
