If you’re looking for scenery in Colorado, generally speaking, you want to be west of Interstate 25. There are two or three exceptions, one of which we will visit today. Strap on your headgear, folks! We’re going back to August of 2008, to Castlewood Canyon State Park. Warning! There are rattlesnakes here! Live ones, even. Well, if you’re an architecture fan, you might enjoy seeing the 1946 concrete arch bridge over Cherry Creek (yes, the same Cherry Creek that runs through Denver):

Not a bridge enthusiast? Perhaps you prefer dead buildings? Well, then, here are the remains of a long-abandoned homestead:

No? Well, then…how about some non-rattlesnake wildlife? Let’s see what they’ve got:

Wow. That was…unimpressive. Well, what about the landscape of the canyon itself? There’s gotta be some natural beauty there, right? Well, let me roll up onto the sidewalk and take a look! Oh. There’s no sidewalk. In that case, let’s just walk around the joint and see what there is to see:

Next week, I will be LIVE in Colorado. Not reporting live, just BEING live. I will be hanging with friends and family, so I probably won’t have time to write up my Trip Reports until I get home. So, there will be no ThrowBack Thursday (likely no posts at all) for the next two weeks. I will be trying to get to a couple of amazing views, so hopefully I’ll have some eye candy for you when I return.
