Utah 2025 Trip Report (Days 4 and 5)

Day 4:

Oh, hey! I forgot to mention my Day 4 din-din! So, I drove a little way up Emigration Canyon to get to Ruth’s Diner. One of the interesting things I had heard about this place is that the diner was originally a trolley car, that has now been significantly added onto. I was also told it had great views of the canyon.

As I got out of my rental car in Ruth’s Parking Lot, I took a look at the scenery around me. Having lived in Colorado for 23 years, I know I’m spoiled, but this just ain’t much of a canyon. It does have trees, so maybe that why the locals consider this to be a great view. The main entrance to Ruth’s Diner takes you through the old trolley car, which was kinda neat, but not as interesting as I had hoped.

But the food…Holy Carp On A Stick (which is not what I ordered)! The food was incredible! I had the Cajun Chicken Linguine. It was easily the tastiest meal on this trip, and I would love to go back and get some more! But no. My time in Salt Lake City is through. I must move on…

Day 5:

Today is the great migration day, the day when I travel from Salt Lake City to Moab, Utah. It’s less than a four-hour drive, but I allotted the whole day, as I figured I might encounter some landscapes worth photographing along the way. And so I did. This next set of photos was taken at a rest area somewhere along US Highway 6…

And on I went, ’till I stopped at another rest area. This one is quite near the junction of Interstate 70 and U.S. Highway 191.

OK, Salt Lake City lovers, here’s what a business should have if it’s trying to claim to have scenic views. The next couple o’ photos represent the view from my room at the Moab Holiday Inn Express & Suites…

That’s it for Day 5. The next day shall be superior.
