Day One: I’m going to a museum today. It opens at 9:30. I figured that would give me plenty of time to have breakfast and watch the local news for a bit. But then I somehow slept until 10:15. TEN FIFTEEN! I haven’t slept that … Continue reading Michigan 2024 Trip Report (Days 1 and 2)
A day and a half from this instant, I will be in the air again. The airport experience should be a bit different this time. It’ll be my first time flying with velcro shoes, so the security line would probably be easier than it typically … Continue reading Flying Will Be Different This Time
I’ll be keeping today’s episode of ThrowBack Thursday short, partly because I am recuperating from elective eyeball surgery, and partly because I still have a lot to iron out in regard to my next trip (which is only 11 days away). It was September 2007. … Continue reading California (September 2007)
Hey! It’s Thursday! Time for another ThrowBack. We begin our voyage with Cedric’s employment status. At the beginning of April 2011, I was starting a new job with a government contractor. I would be working at the Denver Federal Center, but I had to spend … Continue reading Chesapeake Bay (April 2011)
Have you ever thought to yourself (or to anyone else) that you’d like to be able to go on a scenic mountain hike without having to spend a bunch of time in the car to get there and back? If you said / thought Yes, … Continue reading Royal Arch and Flagstaff Mountain (March 2011)
The date is finally set for my Refractive Lens Exchange surgery. Assuming I pass one final evaluation at the end of this week, I will get my bionic eyeballs on July 31st. Now that I know that, I can finally begin planning my summer trip. And I’ve decided to go to Michigan in mid-August. My plans include four museums (including two railroad museums), two national lakeshores, two state parks, one rock arch, one historic fort, and far too much fudge. And I will report it all to you here, on Voyages With Parkinson’s!
As for the rest of the year, I’ve decided to drop my earlier idea of going to New England for the foliage. Instead, I will take my annual Colorado trip at the end of September / beginning of October. I can only hope the aspens will be as stunning as they were two years ago.
It was a different time. A more innocent time. A smellier time. What the Hell am I talking about? I don’t know. But it was definitely late July of 2010. I was road-trippin’ from Idaho to Colorado and had but one day on the itinerary … Continue reading Tetons and Yellowstone (July 2010)
Here’s something the vast majority of you will have absolutely no interest in: During July 2010, I went to a family reunion. Now, don’t worry, I’m not going to bore you with stories/pictures of my family. I only mention it because four of us did … Continue reading Idaho (July 2010)
Today we fire up the Way-the-Hell-Back Machine so’s it can take us back to July 2009. And yes, I do mean “fire up”. That’s right…the Way-the-Hell-Back Machine runs on coal. The idea of a coal-fired time machine may seem odd at first, but it makes … Continue reading Roxborough State Park (July 2009)
Hey! HEY! It’s time for another ThrowBack Thursday! You’d think I’d be out of material for these posts by now, but I just keep digging up more. For example, during February 2011, a dear friend moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee – and I went out to … Continue reading Historic Fort Wood Neighborhood (February 2011)
