My Own Worst Enemy

I am my own worst enemy. I may even be the anti-Cedric. I just keep coming up with more and more ways to waste my time on worthless crap, while falling further behind on the things I want to be (and should be) doing. Like posting here. And brushing and walking my dog. And brushing and walking my teeth. It’s been a long time since I last posted here, and a (relative) lot of stuff has been going on, so I’m wondering how much I should try to cover here today. I guess I’ll start with…

This is NOT what I moved to Charlotte for…

A week ago, we had an ice storm. A couple days ago, we got 11 inches of snow. With the resulting road conditions and knowing Charlotte drivers (and being retired and stocked up), I’ve barely left home in the last week and a half. You’d think that I could take advantage of the situation to get caught up on things around the house. But no. Instead, I bought some video games on Steam, and made an ill-fated decision to try installing Linux on my old laptop. Fixing this ate HUGE amounts of my time. Meanwhile, Bear has been enjoying the cold weather for the most part, but he has made it known that he wants his walkies.

I guess that’s all I will cover for now. I will try to start holding myself liable for at least one post a week. I have a lot to cover: rock climbing, the Vyalev pump, a new approach to selecting vacation destinations, and the genesis of my next Colorado trip).
